Shortly after we moved to Raleigh, we met a young woman who had trained at Clear Sight in California. We were excited to meet her: Avril and I had studied with Sharon Turner and we knew that both Sharon and the director of Clear Sight had trained at the same school in California. The three of us quickly became friends, and it wasn’t long after we met that our friend told us that we should start a school here in Raleigh. She wanted to have something like Clear Sight in the southeast, and rather than asking her teacher to commute here, she figured Avril and I could start a school on our own.
This idea went into both of our consciousnesses and stayed there for a while. I started teaching classes at the Unity Church of the Triangle in Raleigh and before long I was teaching an advanced class which I knew was presenting much of the basic curriculum for the core class in our school. Writer that I am, I started writing up the lessons (and those will turn into a book).
Then the economy tanked, and while we saw resilience around us, we also saw how lost many people were and how much doubt they had about the quality of their lives and the future. Knowing as we do that the quality of life depends on what is within, not what is without, we decided it was time to start the school.
Avril and I are now talking about the structure of the school program and the curriculum. One or the other of us will post on this blog as we continue to make progress toward our grand opening.
Thank you for stopping by, and may you have well-being, harmony and peace in your life.
